Details

Our work is to establish and conserve permanent native woodland in Ireland, encouraging land regeneration and biodiversity. What inspired you to work with Hometree?
We believe in, and value the work of Hometree, and we wanted to support them and the work they do. Through offsetting, Pixelpod has been carbon neutral since it was founded in 2011. We originally partnered with WeForest who have fantastic projects in South America, India and in African countries. We decided that in 2022 that we would like to partner with an Irish enterprise and we made the decision to contact Hometree and discuss the possibility of being partners.

We are delighted with our decision.

You will not see some of the trees you are planting reach maturity, what has inspired such a long term vision?
It’s incredibly exciting to think we will have in some small way made a positive impact on our planet now and in the future. We firmly believe that we are custodians of this planet and that our children and grandchildren will inherit it. Planting native trees is a simple and effective way to help protect biodiversity and help with our climate challenge.

Have there been any key moments you can share about how you or your organisation decided to support a more abundant and healthier world?
Pixelpod design studio’s ethos is to make a big visual impact with a low carbon impact. We support our clients to achieve this. Our ethos has attracted many clients who are educators of sustainable living, charities who directly conserve land and enhance its biodiversity or have an eco or renewable energy business.

Would you like to share any key lessons life has taught you?
The climate crisis is an overwhelming threat but we shouldn’t underestimate the importance of accumulating small positive actions that we can make in our community.
